Greater Noida, September 15, 2026: The opening day of bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026 brought a strong wave of equipment launches, technology showcases and power solutions to the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida.
Manufacturers across construction, mining, material handling and industrial applications used Day 1 to introduce new products and expand their India-focused portfolios. Among the major developments were the commercial launch of Volvo Construction Equipment’s 65-tonne EC650 excavator, JCB’s unveiling of 10 new machines, SANY India’s display of 31 machines including 13 reported new launches, and new power-generation solutions from Cummins India. Hyundai Construction Equipment and JK Tyre also introduced new products for construction, mining and off-road applications.
One of the major Day 1 launches came from Volvo Construction Equipment India, which commercially launched the EC650, a 65-tonne-class excavator designed for mining and mass-excavation applications.
According to Volvo CE, the machine is powered by a Volvo D13E engine producing 435 hp and features a heavy-duty undercarriage, boom and arm, together with advanced hydraulics.
The company said the EC650 is available for immediate delivery to mining customers and will also be offered through its Equipment-as-a-Service model.
The EC650 forms part of Volvo CE’s wider bauma showcase covering excavators, wheel loaders, compactors and electric equipment for mining, construction and infrastructure applications.
JCB India unveiled 10 new machines on the opening day, adding to a wider display of 21 products at its bauma CONEXPO INDIA stand.
The new range focuses on areas including productivity, fuel efficiency, uptime and operator experience, with the machines engineered and manufactured in India.
JCB is exhibiting at Stall OD40 at the India Expo Centre & Mart. The exhibition runs from September 15 to 18, 2026.
SANY India presented one of the largest equipment line-ups on Day 1, with 31 machines, including 13 reported new launches.
The display spans excavation, deep foundation, road construction, mining, ports, material handling, aerial work and heavy-duty transportation. The company is also highlighting electric equipment across categories including excavators, wheel loaders, mining trucks, mining tippers, reach stackers and aerial work platforms.
The scale of the showcase reflects the growing focus on application-specific equipment and electrification across the construction and mining equipment market.
Power-generation technology was another significant part of Day 1, with Cummins India introducing two new genset solutions based on its QSK60 platform: the QSK60 G34 and QSK60 G37.
The QSK60 G34 is reported to deliver 2,000 kVA Prime and 2,250 kVA DCC, while the QSK60 G37 reaches 2,500 kVA DCC.
The G37 is also reported as CAQM-compliant for applicable markets including Delhi-NCR and Tamil Nadu. The new solutions are positioned particularly for data centres and other mission-critical applications.
HD Hyundai Construction Equipment India used the opening day to unveil three machines: the HX33A Mini Excavator, R145L Excavator and HL655A Wheel Loader.
The HX33A is a 25.2 PS compact excavator aimed at precision applications including arecanut plantations, urban infrastructure and pipeline work.
The R145L, rated at 105 HP, is positioned for quarry applications, while the 228 HP HL655A Wheel Loader is targeted at port, coal and mining operations.
Hyundai Construction Equipment is exhibiting at Stall O.F-10, with the event running from September 15 to 18.
The opening day also saw JK Tyre & Industries launch four new Off-the-Road tyre products for construction, material handling and mining applications.

The MPT 45 and MPT117 patterns target construction and material-handling equipment, while the JDO XD is intended for demanding mining-tipper applications.
JK Tyre’s presence at the exhibition is at Hall 10, Stall Q31, with the event continuing through September 18.
Beyond complete machines, Tata Motors showcased a range of aggregates for construction, material handling and industrial applications.
The display includes CPCB IV+ compliant gensets from 10 kVA to 125 kVA, industrial engines ranging from 0.7-litre to 3.3-litre, and the HR 210 Live Axle, described by Tata Motors as an India-developed hub-reduction axle with high localisation.
The first day of bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026 highlighted how the equipment market is expanding beyond conventional earthmoving machinery.
The product launches covered large mining excavators, compact construction equipment, wheel loaders, OTR tyres, high-output gensets and industrial aggregates, while exhibitors also highlighted electrification, productivity, application-specific engineering and lifecycle efficiency.
For the Indian equipment industry, one of the clearest themes emerging from Day 1 is the breadth of the product pipeline. Manufacturers are increasingly addressing specialised requirements across mining, infrastructure, quarrying, ports, material handling and industrial power, rather than relying on one-size-fits-all equipment.
With bauma CONEXPO INDIA continuing through September 18, further machine launches, technology demonstrations and manufacturer announcements are expected during the remaining days of the exhibition.
