Greater Noida, September 16, 2026: Caterpillar is using bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026 to showcase a broader equipment and customer-support strategy in India, combining new machines with connected technologies, aftermarket services, financing, rental and lifecycle-support solutions.

The company’s Day 2 showcase includes the Cat 355 Hydraulic Excavator, Cat D5 Dozer and Cat 120 GC Motor Grader, while Caterpillar and its authorised dealers are also highlighting technologies such as Product Link, VisionLink and Cat GRADE with ASSIST, alongside Customer Value Agreements and digital parts and service tools.

Beyond the machine sale

Caterpillar’s strategy extends beyond the initial sale of a machine. At bauma, the company is presenting an integrated approach covering machine selection, financing, operation, maintenance, rebuilding and eventual replacement. Caterpillar’s broader corporate materials also describe integrated equipment-and-service solutions focused on uptime, productivity and total cost of ownership.

For Indian customers, this approach is being supported through Caterpillar’s dealer network and a range of ownership and support programmes. Caterpillar’s India service platform lists authorised dealers including Gainwell Commosales and GMMCO, serving construction, infrastructure, mining, power and related sectors.

Connected equipment and fleet management

Digital fleet management is a major part of the strategy.

Product Link provides machine connectivity, while VisionLink brings equipment and operational data into a fleet-management platform. Caterpillar says VisionLink is designed to provide fleet visibility and actionable operational insights. At the end of 2025, Caterpillar reported more than 1.6 million connected and reporting assets globally.

At bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026, Caterpillar is also demonstrating Cat GRADE with ASSIST, which combines machine technology and operator assistance to support grading productivity and accuracy.

Customer Value Agreements and lifecycle support

Another part of the offering is the Cat Customer Value Agreement (CVA).

CVAs can bundle planned maintenance, parts and dealer support, providing customers with a structured approach to equipment maintenance and ownership. Caterpillar introduced an enhanced services commitment in 2026 that includes next-day availability for eligible parts and a two-day repair commitment for common repairs under qualifying CVAs, subject to applicable terms and conditions.

Machine rebuilds extend equipment life

The strategy also includes Machine Rebuild, allowing customers to extend the working life of existing equipment rather than relying only on replacement purchases.

Gainwell CAT, Caterpillar’s authorised dealer for North and East India, highlighted Machine Rebuild, CVAs and digital fleet-management tools alongside the Cat 355 launch at bauma. Gainwell said these services are intended to support machine availability and operating economics over the equipment lifecycle.

Gainwell reports a field population of more than 14,800 machines and 8,400 engines across North and East India, Nepal and Bhutan.

Financing, rental and used equipment

Caterpillar’s India showcase also extends beyond new-equipment sales to financing, rental and used-equipment solutions. These offerings provide different ownership and deployment options depending on project requirements.

This is relevant in equipment-intensive sectors where customers may evaluate machines based not only on purchase price, but also on utilisation, uptime, financing costs, maintenance and residual value.

India remains a key Caterpillar market

Caterpillar says it has had a presence in India since the 1930s and has more than 50 years of manufacturing activity in the country. Its Indian footprint includes manufacturing facilities, R&D centres and service organisations supporting sectors including mining, infrastructure, transportation and power.

At bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026, that strategy is visible in the way Caterpillar is presenting its machines alongside digital fleet tools, aftermarket programmes, financing, rental and rebuild services—positioning equipment ownership as a longer-term lifecycle proposition rather than a single transaction.
