New Delhi, September 22, 2026: The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has floated a ₹3,144.05 crore package for a 58.6-km section of the Shamli-Gorakhpur corridor in Uttar Pradesh.

The package is being tendered under the Hybrid Annuity Model (HAM). Bids opened on September 16, 2026, and the current submission deadline is November 4, 2026.

58.6-km highway section

The package forms part of the wider Shamli-Gorakhpur high-speed corridor being developed to improve east-west connectivity across Uttar Pradesh.

With a project value above ₹3,000 crore, the package is relevant to road contractors, EPC companies and equipment fleets preparing for upcoming highway work in the state.

Equipment demand across the construction cycle

Projects of this scale typically require equipment across multiple work fronts, including excavation, embankment preparation, crushing, batching, paving, compaction and transport. Actual fleet requirements will depend on the awarded contractor’s construction methodology and programme.

What contractors should watch

The immediate focus will be on the bid process, award timeline, financial close and mobilisation. Those milestones will determine when construction activity and associated equipment deployment begin on the ground.
