New Delhi, September 22, 2026: India’s construction-equipment export story is gaining pace, with industry estimates pointing to more than 20,000 machines in FY27 as manufacturers see stronger demand from overseas markets.
The Indian Construction Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (ICEMA) estimates exports of 20,701 units for the financial year ending March 2027, compared with 17,396 units in FY26 and 11,990 units in FY24.
Industry representatives have linked the increase to newer emission standards, stronger product capability and trade agreements that are opening more opportunities in Europe, the United States, Australia and Southeast Asia.
The shift is significant because Indian manufacturers are increasingly looking beyond traditional regional export markets and competing in markets with tighter technical and emissions requirements.
Higher export volumes place greater emphasis on quality, component localisation, compliance and after-sales support. For Indian manufacturers, the export opportunity is therefore closely connected to how quickly domestic production systems can scale while maintaining international standards.
Order intake, logistics costs, trade policy and demand in developed markets will shape the pace of export growth through the year. Even with geopolitical and freight-related risks, the current estimates point to exports becoming a more important part of India’s construction-equipment market.
