Greater Noida, September 16, 2026: Caterpillar has introduced three machines at bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026 — the Cat 355 Hydraulic Excavator, Cat D5 Dozer and Cat 120 GC Motor Grader — expanding its equipment offering for quarrying, mining, heavy infrastructure and road-construction applications. The machines are being showcased at Stall O.E20 at the India Expo Centre, Greater Noida, during the September 15–18 exhibition.
The Cat 355 Hydraulic Excavator is designed for demanding quarry and mining operations. It is powered by a Cat C13B engine paired with an electrohydraulic system. The 355 WVG configuration features a 4,040 mm-wide undercarriage, intended to provide increased stability during heavy-duty operations.
The excavator can be equipped with a 4.0 m³ severe-duty bucket or a 4.5 m³ heavy-duty bucket. Caterpillar also offers three operating modes, while its Smart mode automatically balances engine and hydraulic power according to operating requirements.
Caterpillar has incorporated features aimed at reducing maintenance downtime, including extended filter life, synchronised maintenance intervals, ground-level service points, automatic fan cleaning and onboard maintenance tracking. The machine also includes operator-focused features such as a multilingual touchscreen, air-suspension seat and rear-view camera.
The Cat D5 Dozer is being positioned for mining and heavy infrastructure projects. It is powered by a Cat C7.1 engine and uses a fully automatic transmission.
The machine features a 4.3 m³ SU blade, while available VPAT blade configurations and technology options are intended to support applications where greater grading and dozing precision is required. Caterpillar states that the D5’s powertrain includes a 170 hp electronic engine, torque divider, fully automatic transmission and differential steering.
The D5 also includes grouped service points, extended filter life and other maintenance-oriented features aimed at reducing service time and operating costs.
For road-building and maintenance applications, Caterpillar has introduced the Cat 120 GC Motor Grader. The machine is designed for low- to medium-duty applications, including rural road maintenance and finish grading.
It is powered by a Cat C4.4 engine and combines a powershift transmission with electronic throttle control and standard Eco mode. Available features include a digital blade slope meter, all-wheel drive, reversing fan and multiple mouldboard widths, allowing the grader to be configured for different roadwork requirements.
Caterpillar’s bauma display extends beyond equipment. The company is also showcasing Product Link, VisionLink and Cat GRADE with ASSIST, alongside aftermarket services, Customer Value Agreements and Cat Central, its digital platform for equipment information, maintenance resources and parts ordering.
The company’s exhibition strategy combines machines with digital technologies, financing, rental, used equipment and aftermarket support. Caterpillar is also displaying SEM equipment, FG Wilson gensets and work tools at the event.
Caterpillar’s presence at bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026 reflects the breadth of equipment and support solutions being presented to India’s construction, mining and infrastructure sectors. With the Cat 355 addressing severe-duty excavation, the D5 targeting dozing requirements and the 120 GC focused on roadwork, the three-machine launch spans three distinct equipment categories.
