Schaeffler India used bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026 to present a portfolio of motion technologies for construction and off-highway machinery, including bearings, sensors, electric motors and electromechanical actuators. The company positioned the display around machine efficiency, reliability and maintenance.

The 15–18 September event in Greater Noida gave equipment manufacturers a view of components that could be integrated into future machines. Schaeffler’s announcement describes a technology showcase; it does not identify new Indian equipment supply contracts or provide customer deployment figures.

Components on display

Schaeffler highlighted its X-life low-friction bearings for applications including drivetrains, hydraulic pumps and transmissions. It also presented sensor technologies such as torque-measurement modules and sensorised components, which the company says can support condition monitoring and predictive maintenance.

The company’s electrification display included electric motors and electromechanical linear actuators. Schaeffler described the actuators as alternatives for selected hydraulic functions, rather than replacements for every hydraulic application. Its Industrial Lifetime Solutions offering covered condition monitoring, lubrication and maintenance systems.

India manufacturing and buyer questions

Schaeffler India managing director Harsha Kadam said the group has five manufacturing facilities in India and described localisation levels of approximately 80%. Those are company-reported figures. The release did not break out which showcased construction-equipment components are made locally or disclose their Indian sales volumes.

Equipment Brief analysis: For an OEM, the practical questions are component duty cycle, integration with machine controls, serviceability and total lifecycle cost. A trade-show demonstration is a starting point for technical evaluation, not evidence of field performance. The sensors and monitoring solutions also connect with the wider shift towards connected construction-equipment fleet management.
