Volvo Construction Equipment has launched the EC650 mining excavator at bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026 in Greater Noida, adding a 65-tonne-class excavator to its mining display at the exhibition. Volvo CE’s official event page lists the EC650 under its mining line-up for the show.
The Volvo EC650 has an operating weight of 63,600 kg, gross power of 340 kW and bucket capacity of 4.6 m³, according to Volvo CE’s current India product page.
Volvo CE lists the machine for heavy-duty digging, mass excavation and large site preparation. The company says the EC650 uses an electro-hydraulic system with Independent Metering Valve Technology and offers features including a larger bucket capacity, reinforced undercarriage and CareTrack telematics.
The published specifications also include a maximum digging reach of 12,062 mm, maximum digging depth of 7,429 mm and overall width of 3,950 mm.
Volvo CE’s official bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026 page lists the EC480, EC650 and L150 under mining. Its construction and infrastructure display includes the EC210, EC220, EC215, L120 Electric, EC300, DD90 and SD110.
The company has previously described the EC650 as a new model for its India portfolio. Volvo CE’s India news page says the machine had its first appearance in India at EXCON 2025 as a pre-launch reveal.
At bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026, the machine is being presented as part of Volvo CE’s mining range alongside the EC480 and L150.
Volvo CE says the EC650 is designed around productivity and efficiency in heavy-duty applications. The company lists up to 22% more fuel efficiency and describes a hydraulic system using Independent Metering Valve Technology.
The machine also includes grouped filters, a battery cut-off switch and reinforced undercarriage features, according to Volvo CE’s India product documentation.
Pricing and delivery timelines for the EC650 in India were not stated in the official sources reviewed.
For Indian mining and large-earthmoving operators, the EC650 adds a 63.6-tonne excavator to Volvo CE’s exhibition line-up at bauma CONEXPO INDIA 2026. The machine’s published specifications put it in the large crawler excavator segment, with a 4.6 m³ bucket and 340 kW gross power.
