HD Construction Equipment India has opened a Parts Distribution Centre in Kolkata, expanding its parts network for customers in eastern India. The company says the centre is intended to improve parts availability and shorten delivery times for equipment owners and dealers in the region.
Although the company reported the development in September 2026, it says the facility was inaugurated on 23 July 2026 by managing director Seong Woo Shim. No warehouse capacity, investment value or quantified delivery-time target was disclosed in its announcement.
Construction equipment uptime depends on the speed and reliability of parts supply, particularly when machines are working at remote projects. HD Construction Equipment India says the Kolkata centre is designed to reduce turnaround times for critical component deliveries and strengthen its regional after-sales response.
That is a company objective, rather than a measured improvement: the announcement did not publish before-and-after service data. Fleet owners should ask dealers which parts will be stocked locally, the delivery coverage area and how service commitments will be measured.
Equipment Brief analysis: A parts centre can be as important to contractors as a new machine launch when projects are running on tight schedules. Delays in obtaining filters, wear items, hydraulic components and other spares can idle a machine even when its purchase specifications suit the job.
The Kolkata move adds a service-network dimension to India’s equipment market story. For context on how reliability and lifecycle support affect purchasing decisions, see Equipment Brief’s construction equipment industry overview.
HD Construction Equipment India did not provide a commissioning date separate from the 23 July inauguration. This report therefore describes the centre as opened, without assuming a broader network rollout or a quantified benefit that has not been demonstrated.
